Lay Carmelite - Annual /Advent Retreat

Fr. Marvin’s academic journey reflects his pursuit of excellence. As a young scholar, he stood out as First Honorable Mention in elementary school, Salutatorian in high school, and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from the Divine Word School of Theology in Tagaytay City. He further pursued Philosophy and Psychology at the University of La Salette and earned a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry from the Inter-Congregational Theological Center, where he won the Grand Championship at the 2013 Toastmasters’ International Speech Contest.
His Master’s Thesis, “PEACE BE WITH YOU”: DAMAYAN AS A PASTORAL ACCOMPANIMENT PROGRAM FOR GRIEVING LOVED ONES BASED ON JOHN, earned the prestigious Best Thesis Award. This work combines theological insight and pastoral care, addressing the complexities of human grief with empathy and innovation.
Fr. Marvin continued to expand his knowledge by pursuing a Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling at Father Saturnino Urios University. He served as School Chaplain at Mt. Carmel College in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, as a College Professor, and as Assisting Priest at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
Fr. Marvin is a resident priest at St. John of the Cross Parish, Ontario, Canada. Fr. Marvin enriches the lives of many through his ministry, retreats, and recollections.
Alongside his pastoral work, he is pursuing studies in Business Management in Toronto.
